Introducing Ms. Koh

Ashley Koh, M.S. is an advanced doctoral practicum fellow who is passionate about collaborating with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families to navigate life’s challenges and mental health concerns in a healthy, meaningful way. As a Korean-American therapist and daughter of immigrants, Ms. Koh understands how cultural background can shape values and perspectives. She warmly welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to learning about each client’s unique context in order to adapt sessions to their specific needs and goals. Ms. Koh’s approach to therapy helps clients get unstuck from painful internal struggles and move towards a more fulfilling, values-driven life. She strives to provide a safe and empowering space for clients to heal, grow, and reconnect with what truly matters to them.

Educational and Career Background

Ms. Koh received her B.A. in Psychology with minor in Urban Studies at Wheaton College in Illinois. She received her M.S. in Applied Psychology at the University of North Texas where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Ashley Koh has worked in various clinical sites including a substance use treatment center, an outpatient community mental health clinic, a university counseling center, a VA medical center, and an outpatient hospital. Most recently, she completed her year-long practicum training at John Peter Smith Hospital and Fort Worth VA Mental Health Clinic.

Across these settings, Ashley has co-lead group art therapy workshops and provided individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She has also provided comprehensive psychological assessments and offered telehealth services. Her research interests include attachment theory, coping, self-compassion, cultural variables, help-seeking, and stigma of seeking help. Ms. Koh will be providing services on behalf of Great Life Counseling Center under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Lambert, Psy.D., MBA.
