INTRODUCING MS. GABRIELA SILVESTRY ACOSTA
Gabriela Silvestry Acosta Gabriela is committed to providing a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, respected, and supported throughout the therapeutic process. She believes every individual possesses unique strengths, which she intends to empower as clients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and is tailored to each client’s individual needs, goals, and cultural background. Gabriela has experience providing individual psychotherapy and conducting psychological assessments with children and adolescents. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, adjustment concerns, and child and family mental health.
Educational and Career Background
Gabriela is currently pursuing her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Ponce Health Sciences University. Throughout her doctoral training, she has gained experience in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, clinical interviewing, treatment planning, and clinical documentation. Her training has included work with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient settings, providing evidence-based interventions for a variety of emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns. Gabriela has administered and interpreted cognitive, personality, behavioral, and neuropsychological assessment measures while collaborating with
multidisciplinary teams to support client care.
As a bilingual clinician, Gabriela is passionate about increasing access to quality mental health services for culturally diverse and communities. She values creating strong therapeutic relationships built on empathy, respect, and collaboration and she is dedicated to helping clients build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and achieve their personal goals. Outside of her clinical work, Gabriela enjoys traveling, spending time with family, playing with her cats and going to the beach.
