INTRODUCING DR. STILLO

Dr. Nikki Stillo is a Texas licensed psychologist with a strengths based approach to therapy. Dr. Stillo strongly values a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client.  While working toward your goals, you can expect a safe and non-judgmental environment characterized by kindness, compassion, and genuineness.

Dr. Stillo specializes in treating perinatal mental health, trauma, relationship issues, mood, and anxiety disorders. She has special interests in working with college students, young professionals, individuals struggling with pregnancy and postpartum difficulties, and couples experiencing transitions throughout the journey of parenthood. Dr. Stillo is also an experienced supervisor for pre-licensed and postdoctoral psychologists and is available for supervision and consultation.

Education and Career Background

Dr. Stillo received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas following completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Vanderbilt University-Veterans Affairs Consortium in Nashville, TN. She then returned to the Dallas area and completed a formal post-doctoral fellowship at Southern Methodist University’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services where she then remained on staff for several years as a Licensed Psychologist and Supervisor. Dr. Stillo joined Great Life Counseling Center in 2015 as a Licensed Psychologist and then as the Director of Clinical Training before transitioning to her current role as Clinical Director (Addison). Due to the high quality services she provides to the Addison community, Dr. Stillo is a 2-time Addison Reader’s Choice Award winner.

Throughout her career, Dr. Stillo has consistently pursued advanced training to develop her expertise. Dr. Stillo has completed advanced training with Postpartum Support International and is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C). She is also trained in EMDR and has completed specialized training in the practice of EMDR for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. Dr. Stillo has completed Gottman Training Levels 1 and 2, which she regularly integrates in her work with couples.

Dr. Stillo is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (TX License #37142; Expires 10/31/2024).
